Today I am going to show you our DIY pantry door and sign!

Back story: When we bought our home 10 years ago, there was so much potential in the kitchen! (Stay tuned for a later post all about our kitchen make-better!)

Lots of space, but no pantry. We were only a family of four then, so it didn’t really matter. But we soon grew to a family of five and decided to trash the closet maid shelves for something with a door.

We bought some 1×4’s; ordered some hinges, handles, and magnets off of Amazon; cut, sanded, and stained the wood; and voila! We were ready to put together our pantry doors!

Trust me, there is probably a better way to go about putting them together, but we did the best we knew how with what we had at that time. We didn’t have biscuits and wood glue to wait on, instead Jeremy threw a ton of screws in it. It looks silly when you look at the inside, but lets get real Peter Pan, who’s looking in there?!

To the sign: I used my Cricut to print the letters, had a leftover 1×8 to put them on, and some 1×2’s to use as the frame. I stained the 1×8 and 1×2’s the same color I used for the pantry doors. Then, I positioned the letters where I wanted onto the 1×8 and painted over then in white. When that was dry, I peeled the letters off, stapled my 1×2 frame on, and added some hanging hardware on the back!

I will add links later, but if there are any other questions, please ask!
